Over Thanksgiving break, our team met up at our local cafe (Nature's Brew) to work on planning the budget and our first events. We got lots of good work done, and ate LOTS of treats :)

At our weekly Monday meetings, we take time to plan but also to play games, like the Human Knot!
At our 3rd retreat in January, we made some flyers to advertise our Donation Drive, and we also made powerpoint slides to share with our advisory classes. Finally, our donation drive resulted in collecting 4 very full boxes of canned and dry foods to donate to the St. Francis Center.

At our volunteering events in February and March, we first helped sort the spoiled food from the healthy food that the St. Francis Center had collected. Then, we worked at stations in the Pantry Program to pass the food out to the people that came in for food. We did this because we want to help people who are in need of food and supplies.

At our 4th retreat in April, we are updating our websites and filming our video so that we can show the Girls Build LA organization that we were successful.
We also finished putting together our Kits to donate to the homeless with St. Francis Center. |
